Executive Director, Chantier de l’économie sociale
Jean-Martin Aussant is Executive Director of the Chantier de l’économie sociale since August 2015. He studied music, actuarial, finance and economics at various universities in Quebec, England and Spain before embarking on a career in the international financial sector, mainly in North America and Europe.
He was Executive Director and Vice President of MSCI in London (formerly Morgan Stanley) and Senior Portfolio Manager at PSP Investments in Montreal. He previously served as Quantitative Research Director and Portfolio Manager at Addenda Capital. He has also been an independent consultant in quantitative finance before becoming involved in active politics, including as a Member of the National Assembly from 2008 to 2012 and then as Party Leader from 2011 to 2013.
His commitments include participation in several boards of directors of organizations or collective enterprises in economic, educational and cultural fields.
