UNI Coopération Financière is a French Caisse Populaire (CreditUnion) based in New Brunswick with 150,000 members, 51 business locations, and 1,000 employees. In 2018, UNI became the first Canadian Caisse Populaire to obtain a federal charter and underwent the formidable task of regrouping 17 other Caisses populaires in different locations into one big “Caisse”. Until then, all the credit unions were working individually with their own board of directors.
“Changes are not always easy for everyone and we wanted to help our leaders face these new challenges.”
Why CoachingOurselves?
“There are all types of development programs available to leaders, but CoachingOurselves stood out. We particularly liked how it was structured, with leaders sitting together, talking, and sharing their experiences. When we explored the various themes of the CoachingOurselves topics, we realized they were in sync with what is happening today and very relevant to the issues we were facing. It was different than any other formal program because they constantly published new topics based on what is happening in the world.”
The Impacts
A huge benefit of CoachingOurselves was that the program brought together people throughout the company. The head office was able to see what was happening in other branches and people were able to create relationships and network across different branches in different regions. CoachingOurselves created a synergy among participants, which was invaluable during our restructuring process.
