We would love to share with you an example of an inspiring and innovative organization that is using CoachingOurselves to rebalance society.
The Saga Interproject Netherlands Foundation is a not-for-profit whose mission is to “develop and implement projects and programs in which the personal growth and development of people is stimulated. This leads to increasing the possibilities of people and contributes to a better society, in which people make more conscious choices.”
CoachingOurselves was brought to The Saga Interproject in 2019 by Mireille Jansma who had also introduced our modules into the ING Business School for Managers of the ING Bank. Mireille and Sandra Siere, director Saga Interproject Netherlands, saw the potential for CoachingOurselves to be used with disadvantaged youth. They were inspired to create the Academy4LifeSkills project with youth aged 17-27 and use CoachingOurselves topics to build leadership skills, enhance motivation, and increase problem-solving capacities. The Academy was launched in 2020 and a core group of 35 young people have regularly attended workshops using CoachingOurselves topics such as Reflection
by Jonathan Gosling, Ordinary People, Extraordinary Leadership
by Nancy Adler and others. Shortened and adapted workshops for secondary school students aged 14 to 18 are also provided.
Since the beginning of 2021 the Academy4LifeSkills has been combining workshops with social projects or social internships, training, and personal coaching for approximately 360 young people in Amsterdam and the surrounding area. We here at the CoachingOurselves team are truly inspired by their work!
